Information for California Counselors 

Want to become a credentialed Addiction Counselor in California?  Need to complete a practicum course to meet the basic training requirements?  Do you already have a credential from CAADAC and need continuing education to renew your credential? Need the required hours for your LAADC "first" renewal? The following links will provide you with more information on each of these areas of need.

Our staff can assist you in understanding the credentialing needs in California, and assist you in choosing the coursework you will need for CAADAC credentialing.  We strongly recommend you first navigate to the appropriate page from the selections in the left-hand column.  Hopefully this will answer your questions.  But if you have additional questions, need clarification, or want to have any coursework you have already taken evaluated to see if it will fit any of the credentialing requirements, use one of the following methods:

How do I obtain the required orientation course?
ALL students who are pursuing credentialing in the drug/alcohol field are now required to obtain 9 hours of orientation training.  This training covers the following areas: ethics; confidentiality; professional boundaries.  DLCAS.com has created a nine-hour course to meet this requirement.  For more information and to order the course CLICK HERE.
