 Staying current on issues related to the AODA field is one of the reasons DLCAS.com was founded. Providing updated, focused knowledge about treatment needs has always been a priority for us. Staying current with the ever chaning news and information is also critical for counselors today. With that in mind, DLCAS.com has joined forces with Join Together to bring you the latest news headlines each and every day. Using the links in the right-hand column, you'll be able to read articles of interest to the field. About Join Together Online Join Together, founded in 1991, supports community-based efforts to reduce, prevent, and treat substance abuse across the nation. They are primarily funded by a grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to the Boston University School of Public Health. In 1996, Join Together broadened its scope to include gun violence prevention, supported by a grant from the Joyce Foundation. Additional funding for the gun violence project was awarded in 2001 by the David Bohnett Foundation. More recently, they began focusing attention on strengthening community capacity to expand the demand for and supply of high quality drug and alcohol treatment. In 2000, they launched Demand Treatment!, an initiative to drive up the demand for treatment in American communities. Through their web sites and services, partnerships with twenty-nine cities, and alliances with key co-sponsors, they are helping communities to develop and implement strategies that will achieve this goal. |
