Series
Many states are now allowing many if not
all of the hours needed for basic credentialing to be obtained in a
distance format. We've responded by creating a Series that
will offer larger blocks of hours on the basic, need-to-know
information that will help students prepare for a career in the

A 15 hour course that explores all of the major drugs of abuse, as
well as provides insight into treatment and detoxification issues.
- Basic Ethics
for Addiction Professionals
A 12 hour course
that provides ethics training for professionals who work in the addiction
field.
- Counseling
Functions: Basic Counseling Information
A three-part basic counseling series.
Intended to provide the content information counselors need to
develop the necessary counseling skills used in recovery services.
Covers individual, group, and family skills/techniques. The
three unique courses are: -

Functions: Case Management and Referral Services
A 12 hour course that provides insight and information on the case
management and referral functions.

of Substance Use Disorders
A 15 hour course that helps prepare counselors in the skills needed
to screen and evaluate problems related to chemical dependency.

Counseling Functions: Crisis
Intervention
A 3- hour course that provides
an in-depth look at the counseling function of crisis intervention. This course provided a detailed look at the
types of problems and crises typically faced by clients seeking chemical
dependency treatment. Includes a detailed examination on the
guidelines for the identification, assessment, and treatment of suicidality.

Counseling Functions: Treatment
Planning and Documentation
A detailed, 9-hour course that provides
in-depth knowledge on issues related to
the counseling functions of treatment planning and documentation. This
course
has been designed to
address the art as well as the science of treatment planning, as well as the
need counselors have in documenting critical information in the client
record.

Dual Diagnosis
Information for Addiction Professionals
A need-to-know 12 hour course that contains information
about mental health disorders common to individuals with addictive
disorders. It is estimated that 65% of individuals who are
chemically dependent also have a diagnosable dual disorder.
This course will provide information on the common disorders,
assessment and treatment issues, and medication used for treatment
of such disorders.

Theory and Practice of Addiction Counseling
An expansion and update of one of our most popular
courses (now 15 hours), this course serves as a basic overview to
the problems, needs, and issues of the chemical dependency field.
