Understanding the Addictive Process

A 3 hour course that demonstrates the development and defines the concept of addiction. This course examines addiction as a process, its three stages, and the role of society and the family. 

Goals/Objectives

This course provides you with updated information about new research findings that relate to the various drugs of abuse as well as new trends and new drugs being abused. The course is updated every 6 moths to insure that the most current research information and findings are made available to the field.

By participating in this Distance Learning Course the trainee will:

  1. examine the addictive process;
  2. learn about addiction as a pathological relationship;
  3. explore the four natural forms of relationships;
  4. identify the roots and development of the addictive personality;
  5. trace the path taken when the addictive personality is established and the implications for recovery.
