Who is DLCAS.com?
The Distance Learning Center for Addiction Studies (DLCAS.com) is an internet based educational service that allows participants the opportunity of obtaining educational credits toward state and/or national licensure or certification (either initial, basic education credits for licensure or certification or continuing education credits for relicensure or recertification). Founded in 1997 by Kevin Scheel and Vic Shaw, DLCAS.com currently has both the largest and most diverse number of addiction course offerings available for distance learning. By way of distance education, a counselor or counselor-in-training can obtain part or all of their required credits in the convenience of their own home, at their own pace, and within their own time frame. Using distance education saves considerable amounts of both time and money.

Each individual course we offer will include a clear, concise description of the course content and objectives. Identification of the core tasks, knowledge, and skills with which the course deals will also be provided. Because of the unique nature of distance learning, there is no refund available for "non-attendance." It will be the responsibility of each participant to complete and return required materials (post test and evaluation) in a timely manner. Such guidelines and expectations will be spelled out in the introductory section of each training.
