IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CCAPP STUDENTS REGARDING THE STATE REQUIRED ORIENTATION COURSE:
To Our Valued CCAPP Students:
Due to a recent update from the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP), there has been a change affecting the required orientation course for students seeking certification as drug and alcohol professionals in California.
Effective July 1, 2025, all students pursuing certification as a drug and alcohol professional in California are required to complete a 10-hour Orientation Course before beginning their course of study.
The 10-hour Orientation Course by Kevin Scheel offered on our site, DLCAS.com, is designed to ensure students have foundational knowledge in ethics, confidentiality, and professional boundaries prior to starting coursework that leads to credentialing as a drug and alcohol professional.
However, please note the following important update:
Our version of this course is not currently accepted by CCAPP, and CCAPP ONLY.
-
If you are pursuing certification through CCAPP, PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE OUR VERSION OF THIS COURSE. CCAPP is currently ONLY accepting the 10-hour course they offer for their initial RADT credentialing. You must use CCAPP's version of the 10-hour Orientation course to ensure it is accepted on your application - we will link that for you below.
-
If you are pursuing certification through any other California certifying board, including CADTP, our version of this course remains valid and may still be purchased and used toward your application.
Students are encouraged to verify which certifying board they plan to apply through before purchasing the orientation course to ensure it will meet their board’s requirements.
If you are a current member with CCAPP and need to purchase their approved course, you will need to purchase directly from CCAPP by either visiting their site, or by clicking on the button below:
PLEASE NOTE: All other coursework for CCAPP (and every other California board) basic training and CEU hours through DLCAS.com are still valid and are not impacted in this announcement. This is specifically impacting ONLY the 10-hour Orientation course by Kevin Scheel that is offered on our DLCAS.com platform and ONLY impacting CCAPP students.
We thank you for your time and attention to this matter and please do not hesitate to reach out to staff during business hours should you have any follow up questions.
Sincerely,
The DLCAS Staff
